In May 2018, COERR Mae Hong Son organized a number of organic farming training for refugees. On May 15th, a Basic Organic Agriculture Training was held in Ban Mae Surin camp for 76 students: 47 male and 29 female, and for 90 students of 55 male and 35 female, to enable them to gain knowledge and skills in growing vegetables to supplement their school and boarding house’s lunch; to provide students with nutrient meals that their body needs for growth. In addition, they also learned about harm of using chemical agriculture on health.

Moreover, COERR Agricultural Program also organized the Advanced Organic Farming Training Course during May 21st – June 1st, 2018. There were 28 refugee farmers and COERR camp-based staff, consisting of 19 female and 9 male, who have already passed the basic training course and wish to gain more knowledge and skills that enable them to increase their farm products; to be able to earn their living; or to become trainers and transfer knowledge to other community members in the future.
